Next Human Addiction "How Miserable Life Will Be"

A guy name Mike is suffering from an incurable disease the doctors are performing tests and monitoring his heart beats, he is in hospital. It’s year 2019. A young man enters in a room with a box and give it to a doctor. The doctor tells Mike to close his eyes and after a moment Mike sees a different world a different dimension out of curiosity and wonder he forgot his pain and even the feeling that he is sick and is in hospital. Mike is now seeing a virtual world the dopamine and serotonin level rises and he feels like a new born child. A day passed now Mike have access to everything he want. He now sits in virtual social gathering make thousands of friends looking at a world like he wanted it to be. He can see whatever he want know whatever he want to know everything is perfect. He is now living a completely luxury life like he saw in movies a world of fantasy but everything is looking real like the world was like this from the beginning. Mike now only take of his headset when he goes to sleep but at the morning the first thing he do is put it back on. He feels incomplete without it like a blind cyborg who need to put his eyes back to see the visual. After 2 years Mike is standing at the street corner and something hit him in the face a feeling of emptiness a feeling that nothing is enough. He began to feel anxiety depression and had his first panic attack as he runs into a car and fell everything went blank and dark. 

He open his eyes and found a doctor standing in front of him. He asked what is this place. The doctor says it’s not that important. Listen you are sick and we need to go through some updates your headset is outdated. He tell him to put the glasses on telling him it’s the cure as soon as Mike puts them on he sees a room blank wall no icons no screen nothing. He gets panic where I’m where everything gone? This is real this is everything. Mike confused blank minded as he touch the walls chair and other things he notice that some distorted images are coming into his mind his childhood memories his friends. Mike says doctor I’m bored everything is confusing there is nothing to be surprised about anything that left to have a pursuit of wonder. Is boring a sickness he asked? No the doctor replies it’s being human Mike realise that he has gotten new life and spending this moment with his own self. Without seeking escape from anything but accepting what it is to be a human. he seeks excitement and something new but the most unfortunate thing is he left unsatisfied even after the most satisfying experiences of his life the more you seek excitement to raise your dopamine levels triggering your happiness at the end of the day or a year things will start to look absurd confusing and boring.. Now Mike has realize that everything he ever wish for has been fallen apart he realises that his pursuit for virtual world was nothing more than absurdity but at the same time another bubble of thought his him like a hammer which was that "He is human and the pursuits for things that human has never experienced before are the part of life " but what the use of it he asked himself still completely blank he asked the doctor what's now? 

Now? The doctor replied I don't know it's all about you.

Hmm but I don't find my self to reaching to any conclusion of what I have to do. Mike said with  worried face. Mike entered out of the room and put a glance at the hallway of hospital he completely paradoxical about the sight the icons and texts boxes floating around the hallway. He closed his eyes and then reopen them knowing he was just imagining things and that because of he has been too long there in his own virtual world that he had hard time making difference between real and virtual as he moved further he saw a man sitting on the chair smiling with a headset on but the odd thing about that man was his body it's looked like a lifeless mass with limbs and a thin layer of Skin nothing else. Mike felt dread about how long he's been like this and put the glance on his own hands they were.... Lifeless he felt like his life has been drained from his body he ran towards exit as faster as he could and slam the door open there was it a World the real one he tilted his head up and saw the sky it was beautiful and heart-warming the sunlight felt warm on his body and he finally felt the moments of reality and relief he remembered his childhood when he asked his father that what is up there and his father Adam said it's a sky a roof of our world and Mike said what's above the roof of our world. The God who created you and me and everything Adam replied. Mike felt happy for his memory and he continued his journey to experience the reality as he finally escaped from the shallow world of virtual reality.
